Corey Dorris (born April 2, 1986) is an American actor, singer and acting coach based in Los Angeles. He is best known for his work with the American musical theatre company Team Starkid.

Early Life and Education[]

Corey Dorris was born on April 2 1986 and grew up in Ann Arbor Michigan. Corey is a graduate of both The Juilliard School and The University of Michigan. While at Juilliard he was a recipient of The Robin Williams scholarship, named after its famed alumnus; and received school funding to study abroad in Oxford England at the British American Drama Academy.

Work[]

Corey made his TV debut as Trevor in the TV show the Grinder in 2015 and has since appeared in a number of projects such as Stuck in the Middle, Future Man, Common Ground and Station 19. In 2020 he featured as Quinn Cassidy in the Tin Can Brothers' web series Wayward Guide for the Untrained Eye and also featured as Orlando LaCroix in TCB's 2022 production How the Grunch Cribbed Christmas.

Corey has also featured in a number of theatre productions such as Our Lady of 121st Street at the University of Michigan, Dutch Masters at the MET theatre Los Angeles which won a Stage Raw Award for best two-person performance and in the world premiere of The Canadians at the South Coast Repertory Julianne Argyros Theater in Cost Mesa.

StarKid Productions[]

Corey met the members of what is now StarKid while collaborating on plays through Basement Arts, the university's student-run theatre organization. Corey made his StarKid debut as Big TallyWacker or 'Big T' in Me and My Dick in 2009. He has since gone on to feature in 8 more StarKid musicals featuring as Yaxley in A Very Potter Sequel, Kingsley Shacklebolt in A Very Potter Senior Year, Grandpa and Cletus Jones in The Trail to Oregon!, Bill Woodward and others in The Guy Who Didn't Like Musicals, Frank Pricely and others in Black Friday, Fred in both A VHS Christmas Carol and VHS Christmas Carol Live!, Solomon Lauter and others in Nerdy Prudes Must Die and Bill Woodward in The Guy Who Didn't Like Musicals: Reprised!.

Corey has also featured in a number of Starkid's online projects such as featuring as Quincey Tickelberry in Movies, Musicals, & Me, Fred in A VHS Christmas Carol and as a number of Hatchetfield characters, most notably Bill Woodward and Frank Pricely in Nightmare Time and Nightmare Time 2 as well as appearing in the Workin' Boys short film as Bill Woodward and Stu. Corey is also due to serve as director of the SK Labs project Sissy. Corey also featured in three StarKid concerts as well as The StarKid Jangle Ball Holiday Tour.

Personal Life[]

Corey currently lives in Los Angeles, California and works as an acting teacher. He has taught in public schools across the country as part of artistic outreach programs in cities such as New Orleans, Detroit, and New York.
