Curtis Lawrence "Curt" Mega (born June 24, 1988) is a Los Angeles based actor, singer, writer, producer, director and acting coach. He is best known for his role as Nick the Warbler in Glee and his work with American musical theatre company Team StarKid. He is married to fellow StarKid Kim Whalen.
Early Life and Education[]
Curt was born in Arlington, Texas, and grew up acting in plays and musicals in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. While in a production of Light in the Piazza in Dallas, Curt met his wife Kim Whalen. He was homeschooled and from the age of twelve studied at the Creative Arts Theatre and School. Curt attended Tarrant County College for one year before transferring to Texas Christian University on the Nordan Scholarship for acting. He later left school in January 2010 to move to Los Angeles to pursue acting.
Work[]
Curt has appeared in numerous theatre works including playing Fabrizio Naccarelli in a 2014 production of The Light in the Piazza at Theatre Three Mainstage in Dallas, Texas, and appearing in the 2014 Ovation nominated production Les Misérables at Cathy Rigby's La La Mirada Theatre for the Performing Arts.
He has also appeared in commercials for Subway in 2009 and 7/11 in 2010. He also appeared as Chip in industrial episodics for JC Penney between 2008 and 2010.
Curt is best know for his four season recurring role as Nick the Warbler in the TV show Glee. He appeared in thirteen episodes and led the Warblers in a cover of Billy Joel's Uptown Girl. The song charted at number 8 on the iTunes charts and was even featured on Billy Joel's website. Curt was also a cast member on the 2011 Glee Live! In Concert! tour which toured for four weeks in North America before moving to England and Ireland for twelve days. Curt later appeared on the DVD film of the concert Glee: The 3D Concert Movie. It was Glee that allowed Curt to become friends with Darren Criss, which eventually led him to making connections with members of Team Starkid.
Alongside Glee, Curt has had appearances on TV shows such as Switched at Birth, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, Criminal Minds, Stuck in the Middle and Game Shakers. Curt also starred as Ben Little in the web series Buffering.
Curt has also appeared in many productions made by StarKid affiliates. He has featured in projects by Shipwrecked Comedy such as Edgar Allan Poe's Murder Mystery Dinner Party and is due to feature in their upcoming series Headless: A Sleepy Hollow Story as Eugene Trousers. Curt has also appeared in numerous projects by the Tin Can Brothers. He starred as Agent Curt Mega in the musical Spies Are Forever, and also featured as Cliff Irons in the web series Wayward Guide for the Untrained Eye. Curt is also one of the founders of Shitty Broadway.
Curt has also written and directed numerous short films, including Day 13 which won Best Youth in Cinema Drama Short at Burbank International Film Festival 2019 and The Pact which won Best Youth in Cinema Short at Burbank International Film Festival 2018. He also had numerous short films that were nominated at Burbank International Film Festival 2018 such as The Delivery which was nominated for Best Short and Ace Solverson: Sleuth For Hire, starring fellow StarKid Kendall Nicole, which was nominated for both Best Short and Best Comedy. Curt is also currently in post-production for The Nameless, a horror/thriller film that marks his feature length directorial debut.
Outside of performing Curt works as an acting coach specialising in Scene Study, Audition Preparation, Sitcom, Improv and Musical Theatre. One of his long term students in Kendall Nicole who he has worked with since she was 9 years old. It was his coaching of Kendall that led to her being reached out to audition for Black Friday.
StarKid Productions[]
Curt made his Starkid debut as President Howard Goodman among other characters in Black Friday, the second musical in the Hatchetfield Series.
Curt appeared in Nightmare Time, where he featured in two episodes. He debuted several new characters such as Jonathan Brisby and Duke Keane as well as reprising his role as a sniggle. He then appeared in the second season Nightmare Time 2 where he debuted the characters of Jordan Monroe and Eddie Chiplucky as well as reprising his role as Duke Keane. Curt also acted as the male understudy for VHS Christmas Carol Live!. Curt also featured in Nerdy Prudes Must Die as Kyle Clauger, Mark Chasity, Officer Bailey and Tinky. Curt features in the short film of Workin' Boys as Officer Bailey and Mark.
Curt joined StarKid as part of the cast of The StarKid Jangle Ball Holiday Tour, where he performed at the Chicago, Ann Arbor, Los Angeles and San Francisco performances. He also appeared in VHS Christmas Carols as Jim and Young Scrooge. Curt also appeared in Cinderella's Castle as Tadius.

Personal Life[]
Curt currently lives in Los Angeles, California with his wife Kim Whalen. The couple have two cats named Linus and Lucy. Curt has a patreon on which he regularly interacts with fans on his discord server, the Discurt, he also does monthly watch parties and game nights with patrons.
