The Hatchetfield Ape-Man[]
Lucy is first seen being interviewed by Donna Daggit of the Hatchetfield morning news, Morning Cup’o News. She talks briefly about being saved by the Ape-Man, and says that if she could see him again, she would thank him. She is then approached by Professor Henry Hidgens, who takes her to see what he claims to be the Hatchetfield Ape-Man. The professor reminds her that he is not human, and warns her not to fall in love with him.
She approaches him carefully, asking for his name. After some confusion, he reveals his name is Konk. There’s a montage of Lucy showing Konk various things, including horseback riding. It’s clear the pair are smitten.
Later, she opens the door to her fiancé, Jonathan Brisby, who reveals she should have returned home two weeks ago. Throughout the scene, she defends Professor Hidgens and the man she believes to be Konk, and ends her engagement with Jonathan. After Lucy storms out, it’s revealed Konk is actually a man named Ted, who-- in cahoots with the professor-- was conning Lucy to marry her, and then kill her to obtain her fortune. However, Ted later backs out of the plan to kill her, which causes a falling out between him and Hidgens.
Later in the show, Lucy is proposed to by Konk. However, the professor swiftly interrupts the proposal to reveal Konk's true identity, showing her Ted’s Facebook and PornHub premium account.
Ted is shot by the Professor, and dies in her arms as Konk. Lucy is then hunted by the professor through the woods, gets her leg caught in a bear trap, and reveals that she spent her fortune looking for the apeman. She climbs a tree to attempt to avoid Hidgens, who tells her about “Becky Barnes, who stayed in a tree for two days, but she had to come down eventually.” The branch she is on breaks, and she is caught by the true Ape-Man. The Ape-Man then carries Lucy into the woods with him, and the episode ends.

Their almost-marriage was merely one of convenience and while they did care for each other, they generally had very different personalities and did not share many interests. Lucy seemed to feel like Jonathan always looked down on her.
