The Witch in the Web[]

Duke first appears when he visits the Foster family's trailer. He sees Hannah sitting on the steps, talking to a tree with a can of beer in her hand. After Hannah plays dumb after being caught with the beer, he reprimands Pamela for giving it to her as well as for taking Hannah's ukulele. When Pamela returns the ukulele, Hannah appears concerned by the instrument's color, telling Duke that hers is white--its color is only black in her dreams.

Concerned, Duke rings Miss Holloway, informing her about Hannah and her nightmares. Miss Holloway and Duke then revisit the Foster home. After Miss Holloway enchants Pamela and convinces her to let them in, Duke smiles and remarks that he thinks he's in love with her. He doesn't understand her powers but accepts them anyway.

After Hannah has discussed her nightmares with Miss Holloway, she and Duke talk about it outside. Duke informs Miss Holloway of how Hannah's sister Lex and her boyfriend Ethan were found selling Pamela's painkillers and sent to jail. He even remarks how Lex told him that it was Pamela's idea to sell the painkillers, despite her later denying it in court. Duke suggests that maybe it's trauma disrupting Hannah's sleep, but Miss Holloway tells him otherwise.

While Miss Holloway and Hannah go into Nightmare Time, Duke stands guard at the door but is ultimately knocked out after being caught off-guard by a Wilbur-possessed Pamela. When Miss Holloway is forcibly ejected from Nightmare Time by Hannah's psychic blast, Duke staggers into the room, having awoken, and the two wait for Hannah to awaken. When Hannah finally escapes Nightmare Time, Duke and Hannah stand on the steps to the trailer as they watch Miss Holloway drive away through the Witchwood.

Killer Track[]

Duke is called to visit Rose after her incident at Guitar Zone. He visits her in her room and tries to get her to open up about what's going on with her but she refuses. Eventually, Rose tells Duke about how she listened to the Killer Track and how she thinks she's going to die that evening. She doesn't think that Duke will believe her but he shows her some other examples of kids who have listened to the Killer Track and died. Later that day, Duke takes Rose to Miss Retro's where they meet with Miss Holloway. Rose seems skeptical that Miss Holloway can help her but Duke urges her to trust the woman.

After Miss Holloway takes Rose's place in hearing the Killer Track, Duke is incredibly concerned for her. As the group tries to remove everything that can make sound from the diner, Duke flags Miss Holloway down and questions why she didn't tell him what her plan was, his concern only grows when she says she wants to attempt to stop the Killer Track fearing that it's one of the Lords in Black. Miss Holloway agrees that there are some things she can't stop and gives Duke a letter to read if things go wrong.

Later, Duke, Miss Holloway and Rose sit waiting for the Killer Track to hit with Duke becoming more and more anxious. The Killer Track eventually does hit, coming from Duke and Rose's voice boxes. Miss Holloway is pained desperately trying to stop the noise, to the point of almost hitting Duke with a bar stool but she manages to throw it away. The Killer Track continues to attack eventually killing Miss Holloway. Duke calls an ambulance and Miss Holloway's body is taken away.

Duke is devastated as he takes Rose home. He eventually goes home and finds the letter Miss Holloway wrote him. He finds it says not to call an ambulance nor take her to the morgue. Duke is confused and rushes to the morgue where he sees Miss Holloway come back to life. He's incredibly dazed and confused as Miss Holloway takes him back to the diner and once they're there he demands Miss Holloway give him some answers. Miss Holloway starts to tell him everything but Duke loses all memory of what she said. The two then try and figure out how to stop the Killer Track realizing it's next going to hit at the Hatchetfield Honey Festival.

Duke and Miss Holloway go to the festival trying to find the Track. Duke hears Deb offer Alice an earbud to hear a song and panics snatching her phone from her hand realizing it was just a song by The False Lashes. He gives the girl her phone back and Miss Holloway apologizes on his behalf. Duke eventually finds Kale in the sound booth and punches him, grabbing the boys phone and smashing it, killing Kale in the process.

Later, Miss Holloway and Duke sit in a boat on the lake watching the festival's fireworks. Duke questions how the woman is going to explain how she's alive and Miss Holloway says she won't explain it. She tells Duke about how he'll forget about her thinking she died in the diner that night. Duke is upset and the two kiss as they say goodbye.

A few months later, Duke is in the parking lot of Hatchetfield High hoping to get the school to cover Hannah Foster's medical bills after her accident in Yellow Jacket. As he's standing there a familiar woman, the new guidance counselor, pulls into the parking lot. The two talk and she reveals her name to be Miss Holiday and then she walks inside.

Hannah Foster[]

Hannah Foster is one of Duke's clients. He only wants the best for her. He clearly becomes irritated with her mother but continues to fight for Hannah despite this. It is only because of Duke bringing in Miss Holloway that Hannah was able to end nightmare time.

Duke and Rose

Rose[]

Rose is another of Duke's clients. Like all of his clients he only wants the best for her and treats her with respect and kindness, not dismissing what she's saying, allowing Rose to grow to trust Duke. Even after the loss of Miss Holloway he still continues to try and take care of her via driving her home.

Lex Foster[]

Despite never interacting on screen, Lex Foster and Duke appear to have a trusting relationship with one another. After getting caught with her mother's pills Lex confessed to Duke that it was Pamela's idea showing she trusts him.

As Hannah lived with Lex and Ethan in Yellow Jacket, it can be inferred that Duke could see how much Lex cared for her sister and determined that she was a good guardian for her.
