The Guy Who Didn't Like Musicals[]

Grace is first mentioned in TGWDLM by Bill, when he recounts an argument he had with Alice to Paul in which he suggested alternative girls for his daughter Alice to date instead of Deb. He tells Paul he offered the idea of her dating somebody in Clivesdale, or someone like Grace Chasity, to which she responded that Grace is a 'nerdy prude'. Bill then retorts that he only said to date someone like Grace Chasity, and that Grace is nice to him at church, then is shocked to find himself defending Grace Chasity of all people.

Black Friday[]

In Black Friday, Grace is mentioned by Tom Houston when he is leaving to go to the Lakeside Mall in order to buy a Wiggly for his son, Tim. Emma Perkins is furious to find that she has been invited to the Houston's home not for a family meal, but to instead babysit her nephew whilst her brother-in-law goes shopping. Tom tells her that Grace is out of town, and that he wouldn't have done it if he hadn't had any other choice, before revealing that he is actually going out to get a Wiggly for Tim as a Christmas present.

Perky's Buds[]

Grace is first seen protesting against Perky's Buds with Gabe, marching and waving signs around, shouting "Hey ho, heck no! Perky’s Buds has gotta go!". When Emma Perkins and Ziggs go check out the commotion, Grace tells them that while the devil's weed isn't just bad for the community, but it also threatens the Checkered-Tail Nighthawk population. Ziggs tells her they just tried to shoot the birds, which enrages Grace and Gabe who threaten legal action. Emma and Ziggs get rid of the duo by tossing a bag of manure into their wood-chipper, making it rain fertilizer on Grace and Gabe.

Later , while on her way to a baby-sitting appointment, Grace is stopped by a frantic Emma, asking for her help and wanting her bike so she can get away from the nighthawks. Grace tells her she stinks like weed and bikes away. Later, it's revealed she called the police, telling them to send every available unit to Perky's Buds. She said there was a woman, high on drugs, about to do something drastic. This call ended up saving Emma and Ziggs' lives, but also got them arrested for killing many nighthawks.

Abstinence Camp[]

After a night of drinking and partying Steph Lauter ends up puking in the girls restrooms. She's interrupted by Grace poking her head over the stall to check she's okay. After Grace fears Steph has got food poisoning from the cafeteria food Steph reassures her saying she just feels sick that morning. Grace puts together the combination of morning and sickness and immediately assumes Steph is pregnant which Steph sarcastically agrees to much to Grace's horror. To attempt to help Steph, Grace tells everyone that she's pregnant resulting in a rumour spreading through town, much to the distaste of Steph's father Solomon causing him to send his daughter to abstinence camp. Now at Camp Idontwannabang, Grace reveals to Steph that she started the rumours about her, much to the girl's annoyance but she's unable to react as they're interrupted by Boy Jerry and Girl Jeri's entrance. Grace and the majority of the other campers are extremely excited by the youth ministers' performance and what they have to say.

The next evening, the campers gather around the campfire as Gabe tells the story of Lumber Axe the Mad Woodsman. Grace tries to tell him to stop saying he'll scare the new kids but the boy continues. Later, Grace puts out the fire while Gabe watches. Gabe tries to admit his feeling to her but Grace is entirely oblivious and tells him how good a friend he is and leaves for her bunk.

The next day, Steph goes to shower and finds Grace in there wearing a swimsuit. Grace tells Steph about how it's camp policy and when the other girl tries to shower without one, Grace jumps in her way and refuses to let her past. This frustrates Steph who leaves the washroom to try and lose Grace, but the girl follows her. After Grace tells Steph she'll follow her anywhere, Steph goes into the boys washroom, much to Grace's horror and she runs off to go and tell Girl Jeri and Boy Jerry. She finds the youth ministers emerging from the woods and tells them Steph has relapsed. The three then go the the boys washroom and stop Steph and Pete who were about to shower together.

After Steph is punished by being put in solitary confinement for the rest of the summer, Grace goes to complain to the camp directors. When she enters their office she sees the remains of Noah and Mary's bodies and runs away. She is pursued by Girl Jeri.

When Grace stumbles and trips over a tree root, Girl Jeri talks to her saying she doesn't want to hurt her. She tries to tell Grace how she had Lumber Axe out of wedlock and raised him in the woods to avoid scandal but the woods caused him to grow fast and big and different. However, they're interrupted by Steph screaming and Grace rushes off to try and help her.

Lumber Axe is about to hit Steph with his axe but he's interrupted by Grace putting herself between them. She tells Lumber Axe about how she's the biggest prude he'd ever meet before pointing out that his parents: Jerry and Jeri had sex outside of marriage. Lumber Axe or Little Jerry becomes enraged and kills both his parents before handing Grace the axe and leaving. Pete and Steph attempt to continue leaving the camp but Grace refuses to let them leave. Days later, Grace stands in the arts and crafts tent instructing the campers on how to weave a basket. She oversees the camp keeping everyone in line via the threat of her axe.

Nerdy Prudes Must Die[]

Grace first appears in class alongside Steph Lauter and Pete Spankoffski where she discovers them cheating on a test. Grace then reports it to their teacher Miss Mulberry, much to their annoyance. Later, Grace is attempting to protest the school homecoming dance when she's approached by Max Jägerman. Max attempts to flirt with Grace by offering to hold her books and make a move on Grace much to her disgust. Grace then leaves.

That evenings, Grace is having dinner with her parents when she tells them about Max's advances on her and they are horrified. Grace then becomes flustered and keeps accidentally making euphemisms and decides to take a bath to cool off. While in the bath Grace masturbates to her own personal fantasy of Max and is horrified at herself. Instead of blaming herself, Grace blames Max and decides she has to get rid of him.

The next day, Grace hatches a plan with Steph, Pete, Ruth and Richie to scare Max at Waylon Hall and film it so he's embarrassed. The prank initially goes well until Max decides to fight back against the so-called ghosts so the group are forced to intervene. Max is initially touched by the prank but then falls through the rotten flooring, down three stories and is impaled on a spike of wood. Max then dies. In order to attempt to stop themselves getting into trouble, Grace instructs the group on how to hide Max's body. The group dismember his body and bury it under the wooden flooring of the abandoned house.

A few weeks later, Grace wakes from a nightmare about Max and is overjoyed to find she's no longer attracted to him. Later at breakfast, Grace learns that her father has sold Waylon Hall and is terrified that they may have found Max's body. At school Grace is called into the principals office with Steph, Pete and Ruth where they're questioned by Detective Shapiro about the death of their friend. The group assume they're being asked about Max but then learn that Richie has died. Shapiro then receives a radio transmission about Max's body being found and leaves. The group are horrified but Grace hatches a plan to try and get the cops off their trail.

Grace visits Shapiro at the HFPD Precinct and lies to her saying that she say someone with a Clivesdale Chemists bumper sticker follow Max into Waylon Hall and suggests that they killed him and Richie. Grace then goes to leave but is stopped by Shapiro who tells Grace that she found her WWJD bracelet in the principal's office. Grace is overjoyed to have her bracelet back until Shapiro reveals she lied and that she found the bracelet next to Max's body. Shapiro then reveals that she knows Grace is involved with Max's death and tries to get her to confess. However, Grace steals a gun from Officer Bailey and runs away from the precinct.

Grace meets Steph and Pete in Beanie's and reveals that the police are onto them and suggests they need to leave the country. When the police enter Beanie's they're distracted by attempting to arrest Paul Matthews and Grace, Steph and Pete run away.

As they attempt to run, the teens are approached by Solomon Lauter who insists they get in his car. He takes them into the woods where he reveals that the only way for the group to stop Max committing murders and pursuing them is to conduct a ritual using the Black Book to communicate with the Lords in Black and get them to help them. Grace, Steph and Pete dig up the Black Book. The group are then found by Max and are forced to run away after Solomon is killed.

Grace, Steph and Pete realize that in order to conduct the ritual they must visit a Black Altar, specifically Hatchetfield High. However, before they're able to make their way there they are found by Detective Shapiro who forced them into her car. Grace attempts to reason with Shapiro but she refuses to listen until Max appears in front of her. Max then appears in the car, throwing Shapiro through the windshield. The teens are horrified and run off to Hatchetfield High to complete the ritual.

Once in the gym at Hatchetfield High, Grace, Steph and Pete complete the ritual and communicate with the Lords in Black. The Lords agree to help them if one of them gives up the thing they treasure most. While Steph and Pete believe one of them has to kill the other, Grace realizes the thing she values the most is her chastity and has sex with Max in order to stop him. Max's soul is then sucked into the Black and White while Steph, Grace and Pete watch.

A few weeks later, Grace attends the homecoming dance with Jason after deciding she wasn't going to try and get it cancelled. Later that night, Grace asks Jason to kiss her and he obliges. Grace is disgusted by this and reveals that she's using the Black Book to steal the souls of people she deems to be 'dirty dudes' and uses it to create her perfect world.

Workin' Boys[]

Grace first appears in the audience of Workin' Girls. She attends with Richie Lipschitz to support her friend Ruth Fleming. Richie shows Grace the edit he made to Ruth's headshot that appears in the Workin' Girls playbill but Grace is disgusted by this. She remarks that she can't believe Ruth is in a show about porn, misunderstanding the show's title.

Following intermission, Grace is shocked to find the stage covered in blood. When the audience begin to realize that the death of the actresses are real, Grace is shocked and somewhat scared. Following the death of Ted Spankoffski, Grace hides behind a seat. She and Richie speak to Officer Bailey and ask him if he's going to take action and he refuses to, giving Grace his gun. Grace uses the gun to shoot Hidgens 21 times, quoting the bible verse Deuteronomy 20:13 as she does so.

Personality and Traits[]

Grace Chasity is a character known for her unrelenting prudishness. She is a very socially awkward high schooler who is widely disliked by her classmates and typically misses the social cues when people speak to her, such as sarcasm and when people are flirting with her. She has a very holier-than-thou attitude and is very set in her religious beliefs. She generally attempts to impose her beliefs on others and is willing to go to extreme means to achieve this such as using the Black Book to steal the souls of “dirty dudes”. She also believes her beliefs to be infallible and will actively ignore anything to the contrary. She often tries to help people how she sees best, but it is often not what would be best overall. By her own admission she is the biggest prude as shown through her actions such as showering in a bathing suit and knitting sweaters for all the crucified Jesus statues in her house. However, Grace is willing to sacrifice things she holds dear in order to do what she believes is right such as sacrificing her virginity in order to save Steph, Pete and the rest of the world from Max Jägerman. Grace is also very easily corrupted. While she does not actively seek power, when objects of power, such as guns, axes and the Black Book, fall into her possession she will actively use them to force others to bend to her will and gets joy out of using them in this way.

Despite this, Grace is extremely willing to help Steph in any way she can making the two reluctant allies.

In Abstinence Camp, Grace and Steph start out as acquaintances at Hatchetfield High. However, after Grace discovers that Steph is supposedly pregnant, she become determined to help her and forcefully becomes Steph's friend in trying to help her. Regardless of Steph's hatred of her, Grace is ultimately driven to help Steph, even risking her life to stop Lumber Axe from killing both Steph and Pete.

In Nerdy Prudes Must Die, Grace at first posed as a mild irritation to Steph, due to her reporting Steph and Pete to Miss Mulberry after catching them cheating on a test. Although she finds Grace annoying, Steph was still willing to join Grace in her plan to prank Max Jägerman, and was even shown to have some faith in her. Following Max's accidental death, Steph and Grace are forced into trusting each other to keep themselves from being accused of murder and going to jail. After Grace gets in trouble with the police, Steph ultimately blames her for ruining their lives, to which Grace tearfully acknowledges. Despite initially blaming Grace, Steph refuses to abandon Grace and let her turn herself in, stating that they’re in this together. Ultimately, Grace shows that she truly cares for Stephanie by sacrificing the thing she cherishes most, her chastity, to save both her and Pete, causing Steph to have some care and respect for Grace. Because of this, Steph and Grace have formed a budding friendship by the show’s end, despite their opposing personalities.

Grace, Mark and Karen in a Nerdy Prudes Must Die Behind the Scenes image

Mark Chasity[]

Mark Chasity is Grace's father. Grace is very close to her father and he is where she gets a lot of her religious beliefs from. Mark can be seen to be part of the reason Grace is extremely sexually repressed describing his home as "a no-moan household" reflecting how he actively discourages anything of a sexual nature in his home. Along with this, many of Grace's religious views are mirrored in Mark such as him viewing PG movies as being scandalous.

Karen Chasity[]

Karen Chasity is Grace's mother. Grace is very close to her mother and gets a lot of her religious beliefs from her. Karen and her husband Mark can be seen to be part of the reason for Grace's extreme religious beliefs due to their own reactions to actions that could be seen as entirely normal such as Karen being horrified at Max offering to carry Grace's books. Grace has a lot of respect for her mother and actively believes and repeats many of the things Karen says such as how Karen believes Smokey the Bear was created by liberals to tempt kids into bestiality.

Jason Jepsen[]

Jason Jepsen is Grace’s homecoming date. At first, Grace seemed open to pursuing a relationship with Jason, especially since they both attend the same church (even if he only goes on Christmas and Easter). Despite this, Grace becomes disgusted by Jason after he kisses her on the first date when they’re “only 18”, and decides to steal his soul as part of her moral mission to rid the world of “dirty dudes”. As Jason rushes offstage out of fear, Grace tells him to run and calls him a “little bitch”.

Trivia[]

  • There is only one Grace in Hatchetfield.[1]
  • Nick has also confirmed via Tweet that Grace is indeed nice to Bill at church.
  • During the run of Nerdy Prudes Must Die Grace handed out anti-homecoming pamphlets that read:

Cancel Home-C*mming! Don't dance with Temptation! Hatchetfield High School does not need to have, and should not have a Home-C*mming Dance! First and foremost, dances of this nature often promote an environment of sexual immorality and promiscuity. There will be students of different ages at the dance co-mingling who aren't strong enough to resist temptation; some of us are only eighteen! Additionally, many students use the dance as an excuse to consume alcohol and experiment with drugs. Why provide them with a venue to do that? Furthermore, the time and money that goes into planning and executing the dance could be better used to make the school a more beautiful place by decorating for Christmas and Easter.I know most of the student body agrees, but is too afraid to speak up for fear of bullying. So we must united to fight Goliath!! So, if you REALLY want to have a good time this Home-C*mming weekend, meet me, Grace Chasity, by the flagpole after school today for the protest of a lifetime. Look for the massive crowd! Or call me if you can't find us (231-486-5380). We're going to let the administration know exactly how the student body feels about Home-C*mming! Tell all your friends! Bible study to follow.John 16:33

  • During the run of Nerdy Prudes Must Die, the flier's phone number was an active phone number that you could ring. Ringing it would get a voicemail from Grace that read:

Hi you've reached Grace Chasity! I can't come to the phone right now because I'm either at church worshiping the lord or I'm trying to get the Hatchetfield High School Homecoming dance cancelled. According to church readers and early theologians such as Tertullian and Saint Augustine dance end in adultery, lust and damnation. This is a huge thing you need to consider when thinking about the fact that our school is actually promoting a dance. Promoting a dance where wayward spunk would be all over the floor causing injuries to thousands of children for years to come. I ask that you stand with me. If you need more references on why a dance is actually inappropriate and will cause literal damnation on your life and your families lives for generations, you may reference the document I put in the office with Miss Mulberry. It's 79 pages long but also at the end there's a sparknotes version cos I do know you Nighthawks don't like to read that much. I love you guys John 3:16. Make sure you stand up tall today and you fight for what you believe in. So leave a message after the beep! Beep! Ok dad I think I finished it Daddy! I don't know how to turn it off.[2]

  • Following the release of TGWDLM many people theorized that the Hatchetfield Bee was Grace Chasity. This was later seen to be untrue via the casting of Angela in the role.
  • According to the Hatchetfield Halloween Party stream her denomination will never be revealed (althouh she is not Catholic, Presbyterian or Methodist).
  • Grace was said to appear in a potential future Nightmare Time episode named Devil's Night.
