"In a realm outside of reality, somewhere in the crossroads of imagination and nightmares, there’s a place, a small mid-western town, where the forces of evil and chaos tug at the fabric of reality. Welcome to Hatchetfield.” - Nick Lang
The tiny town of Hatchetfield is a fictional town located in Michigan, United States. It is the primary setting of Team StarKid's Hatchetfield Series. The Guy Who Didn't Like Musicals, Black Friday, Nerdy Prudes Must Die, Workin' Boys and all Nightmare Time and Nightmare Time 2 stories take place there.
Description[]
The town of Hatchetfield is located on an island in Lake Michigan. It is connected to the mainland and its sister city, Clivesdale, via the Nantucket Bridge and a seasonal ferry. The town has a developed downtown area[1] and a large forest known as Witchwood Forest. The town is home to a number of residents and has two high schools, Hatchetfield High and Sycamore High.
History[]
The town of Hatchetfield was founded in 1824 by the Hatchetmen following their execution of Willabella Muckwab. The Hatchetmen committed themselves to ridding the town of those with The Gift and, as such, created Witchwood Forest by planting those with a touch of The Gift and turning them into Tree-People.
The arrival of The Waylon Family to Hatchetfield greatly transformed the town implementing a number of distinct features such as a mill (which would later become Lakeside Mall), a schoolhouse (which would later become Hatchetfield High), The Hatchetfield Gazette newspaper and the Starlight Theater. The Waylon's also founded The Church of the Starry Children. In 1945, The Church of the Starry Children created the Hatchetfield Honey Festival, a street fair that takes place in downtown Hatchetfield every summer.

Trivia[]
- Hatchetfield is a small, gossipy town; the kind of place where everyone is in everyone's business.[2]
- Due to their respective statuses as the dating Hatchetfield High quarterback and cheer captain, Tom and Becky used to be significant figures in the local community.[2]
- The residents of Hatchetfield are gripped in a fierce rivalry with the inhabitants of Clivesdale. However, the citizens of Clivesdale may not share the same sentiment against Hatchetfield, as they hosted a memorial service for the town at the end of The Guy Who Didn't Like Musicals.
