History[]
The Hatchetfield Honey Festival was founded by the Church of the Starry Children in 1945 and takes place in Hatchetfield every summer.
The festival was founded to ring in the season of Nibblenephim and takes place on a special night each year where dark forces are able to walk the earth. On the eve of the Honey Festival, the Church of the Starry Children sacrifice a woman, the Honey Queen, to Nibbly and in return they are gifted riches and power.
Attractions[]
The Honey Queen Pageant[]
The main attraction of the Honey Festival is the Honey Queen Pageant. Taking place inside the Starlight Theater, the pageant sees eligible women compete to be crowned 'the sweetest woman in Hatchetfield'. The pageant is judged by a panel of judges overseen by head judge and senior member of the festival planning committee Roman Murray.
Live Music[]
The festival features performances from various musical acts. The bands perform on a stage at the end of main street with performances featuring a number of local bands such as Needy Beast.
Boats[]
One popular attraction at the Honey Festival is the paddle boats. People can rent these boats and go out on the lake which surrounds Hatchetfield. The boats offer a good place from which to view the firework display.
Stalls[]
The festival also has a street fair full of vendor booths, food carts and carnival games selling food, honey and other merchandise.
