The Lords in Black are ancient antagonistic creatures in the Hatchetfield Universe. They reside in and rule over the Black and White. The Lords in Black are the sons of an ancient chaos entity[1] and are the brothers of Webby.

The Lords in Black were first introduced as a group in The Witch in the Web and have each acted as an antagonist within the Hatchetfield Series.

History[]

Ancient Times[]

The Lords in Black were spawned from the same deed of evil. Their father was a giant chaos entity.[1]

1824[]

Willabella Muckwab was the first disciple of Wiggly and wrote the Black Book, an ancient tome of spells and rituals. The book allows people to channel some of the Lords' powers to achieve their own goals.

1829[]

Following their move to Hatchetfield, The Waylon Family began actively worshipping the Lords in Black, using the Black Book as the source of their power. They set up several Black Altars around Hatchetfield in order to better communicate with the Lords.

The Guy Who Didn't Like Musicals[]

In October 2018, a meteor containing a strange blue substance fell to Earth, crashing into the Starlight Theater. The substance infected the citizens of the town, and they became part of The Hive of Pokey.

Black Friday[]

On November 23, 2018, the brand new Tickle-Me Wiggly doll was released to the public. People fell under the spell of the doll and became vicious, attempting to get their hands on a doll through any means necessary. A cult was formed within Lakeside Mall in Hatchetfield, with Linda Monroe as their prophet. In an attempt to reason with Wiggly, President Howard Goodman entered the Black and White but was attacked by the Sniggles. The cult attempted to make a portal to allow Wiggly to move from the Black and White into the real world, but they were stopped by Lex Foster, Becky Barnes, and Tom Houston.

Watcher World[]

Alice and Bill Woodward went on a trip to Blinky’s theme park, Watcher World. For his own entertainment, Blinky manipulated Bill and Alice into fighting each other, but they eventually broke out of his spell. Alice shot the Blinky mascot in the eye, and the two left the theme park.

Time Bastard[]

Tinky used the temporal distortion in the office of Ted Spankoffski to give the man the ability to travel through time. He manipulated the man into going back in time, where he accidentally killed his old girlfriend, Jenny. Ted was then stuck in the past, and after looking into the Bastard's Box, Ted lost his mind and was forced to remain in the past, eventually becoming the Homeless Man. After finally getting back to the present, Ted was then killed by Emma Matthews and Paul Perkins and was forced to wander the impossible twisting maze of The Bastard's Box for all eternity.

Jane's A Car[]

The Lords in Black were named in a recording of the Black Book made by the Tape Voice.

The Witch in the Web[]

While in Miss Holloway's Nightmare Time, Hannah Foster was plagued by the voice of Wiggly.

Honey Queen[]

After being crowned Honey Queen, Linda Monroe was taken into Witchwood Forest, where she was offered as a sacrifice to Nibbly by The Church of the Starry Children. In exchange for their sacrifice, Nibbly gave the members of the church wealth and power.

Daddy[]

Sheila Young incited the power of the Lords in Black, using the Black Book to steal people's youth and remain eternally youthful. Her spell was then used against her by Sherman Young.

Killer Track[]

Miss Holloway used the Black Book to siphon some of Tinky's power to allow herself to travel back in time.

Yellow Jacket[]

After splicing a blue substance taken from a meteor with human DNA, a creature was created and purchased by Charles Coven to fight in the ring at the Hatchetfield Roller-rama. Otho, the human form of Pokey, possessed both the Boy with the Bloody Nose and Sophia. He then went up against Hannah Foster and almost possessed her, but was stopped after being blown up by Lex Foster.

Nerdy Prudes Must Die[]

In the fall of 2020, Wiggly and the other Lords in Black appeared after being summoned by Steph Lauter, Pete Spankoffski, and Grace Chasity. They appeared in a humanoid form, claiming that doing so was easier for the human mind to comprehend. During their song The Summoning, Wiggly and the other Lords granted them an ultimatum: sacrifice the thing they cherish most or die at the hands of Max Jägerman. They tried to get Steph to sacrifice Pete, but Grace decided to sacrifice her chastity instead, after which Wiggly came to drag Max into the Black and White. Grace then became a sort of conduit for the Lords in Black, using their power to take the souls of those whom she deems 'dirty dudes'.

Relationships[]

Allies[]

  • The Sniggles- The Sniggles are lesser entities that live within the Black and White that were enslaved by the Lords in Black.[1] Each Lord has his own Sniggles though they each have different attitudes towards them. Pokey dislikes the Sniggles as he only likes his own voice[1] while Wiggly and Blinky use them as minions to achieve their goals.
  • Wilbur Cross- After entering the Black and White through the portal built by P.E.I.P., Wilbur Cross pledged his allegiance to the Lords in Black and now works for them in their attempts to take over the world.
  • Willabella Muckwab- Willabella Muckwab was the first disciple of Wiggly. She wrote the Black Book which allows people to funnel the Lords' powers for witchcraft.

Trivia[]

  • When the Lords In Black are named, they are almost always named in the same order: Pokotho, Bliklotep, T'noy Karaxis, Nibblenephim, Wiggog Y'wrath. This occurs in Jane's A Car, Daddy, and Nerdy Prudes Must Die. It is also the order that Willabella Muckwab pulls the dolls out of her bag in The Witch In The Web.
    • With the exception of Wiggly, this is the chronological order that the Lords In Black appear in the Hatchetfield Universe throughout The Guy Who Didn't Like Musicals, Nightmare Time, and Nightmare Time 2.
    • When they are being called upon as a group, the recitation of their names is often prefaced with "[We/I] invoke the names".
