Mariah "Mrah" Rose Faith Casillas (born December 29, 1995) is an American actress, singer, songwriter and performer based in Los Angeles. She is best known for her role as Regina George in the first National Tour of Mean Girls, as well as her work with the American musical theatre company Team Starkid.

Early Life and Education[]

Mariah was born on December 29, 1995 in San Diego. When she was 8 her brother Luke was born. She also performed in her first-ever show, Honk!, where she played the role of 'Female Soloist'. Mariah did high school in theatre appearing in shows such as Seussical. After graduating from high school, Mariah went on to become a party princess for Royal Entertainers where she dressed up as princesses such as Ariel, Aurora, Rapunzel and more. She then moved out of her childhood home and became roommates with Starkid stage manager Paul Gabriel, who she lived with for 4 years.

Mariah later enrolled in The Los Angeles Film School to study film direction, where was studying during The Guy Who Didn't Like Musicals. However, she then dropped out to pursue theatre full time as a result of the sexism experienced there.

Work[]

Mariah has appeared in many shows, including playing Aldonza in Man of La Mancha in 2016 at Santa Monica College Theatre Arts Department, as well as playing Ilse in the Pasadena City College Center for Art's production of Spring Awakening. Mariah has described Ilse as a defining role for her and is infinitely grateful to Paul Gabriel for peer pressuring her into auditioning for it.

Mariah later went on to originate the role of Johanna Van Gogh-Bonger in Dahan & D'Angelo's Starry at the Rockwell Table and Stage, where she met many Starkids including Jeff Blim. She then went on to play the character on Starry's concept album in 2020.

After posting a cover of Regina George's song World Burn on her YouTube in May 2018, Mariah was reached out to by Tina Fey and the rest of the Mean Girls team and invited to send in an audition for the role of Regina for the Mean Girls National Tour. Mariah was finally announced in the role on June 25, 2019. The tour began previews in Buffalo on September 21 and Faith stayed with the company until it shut down for the COVID-19 pandemic on March 13, 2020. During the show's run, Mariah filmed an 8 episode vlog series for Broadway.com entitled 'Get In Losers'.

Mariah featured on the song "Touch the Sky" on the 2020 concept album for the new original musical Seasons. She was also announced to be starring as Noelle in the demos for in Joriah Kwame's Little Miss Perfect: The Musical. Mariah also stars as Rose Stratford in Matt Dahan's radio musical series Pulp Musicals.

On April 24, 2021, Mariah released concept art for her own original musical about the Super Mario character Luigi, a musical which she had been teasing since 2019 with more information to come.

StarKid Productions[]

After becoming friends with members of Team Starkid during the run of Starry, Mariah was asked by Jeff Blim to audition for The Guy Who Didn't Like Musicals. Mariah was officially announced to be joining the cast in August 2018. Mariah went on to play the roles of Melissa, Zoey, Greenpeace Girl, Alice, and Doug in TGWDLM.

The next year, Mariah appeared in StarKid Homecoming, where she performed in The Guy Who Didn't Like Musicals Medley as well as the Starship Medley. Mariah was the only Starkid not to feature in Harry Freakin' Potter at Homecoming, as she didn't know the words, so she and Nick Lang agreed she should be omitted from the song. She was originally cast as and announced as the actor for Lex Foster in Black Friday, however, due to her obligations with Mean Girls, she was replaced in the role by Angela Giarratana.

Mariah returned to Starkid to perform in Nightmare Time, where she featured in two episodes, as well as singing the opening song for Forever and Always in Episode 2. She reprised her roles of Alice, Doug and Greenpeace Girl as well as debuting the character of Webby. Mariah also played many ensemble roles in the livestream series. She then featured again in the second season of Nightmare Time where she reprised her roles of Zoey, Alice, and Webby as well as debuting the characters of Steph and Woman. During the StarKid Returns kickstarter campaign Mariah reprised her role of Melissa in a special live-reading of the story Hey, Melissa!. Mariah reprised the role of Steph Lauter in Nerdy Prudes Must Die Mariah featured in Workin' Boys as Zoey Chambers and Woman.

She is due to appear as Putrice in Cinderella's Castle.

Personal Life[]

Mariah is of Spanish/Mexican descent and is Jewish. She currently lives in Los Angeles with her dog, Willie, who she adopted during the pandemic and her boyfriend Taylor Jorgensen, whom she has described as 'the one'. Mariah also regularly streams on her twitch channel.

On June 13, 2020, Mariah subtly came out as pansexual in an Instagram post by putting pansexual flag-colored hearts in the caption of a post, along with wearing the colors, and later made a TikTok in which she explicitly identified as pansexual.
