The Guy Who Didn't Like Musicals[]
While not directly appearing in The Guy Who Didn't Like Musicals, Pokey is the main antagonist of the show. Pokey sent a blue substance to earth via a meteor. This substance infected the town of Hatchetfield, causing them to become members of the Hive.
Jane's A Car[]
Pokey is mentioned by the Tape Voice in his reading of The Black Book. He is referenced in the ritual of soul transference.
The Witch in the Web[]
Pokey appears in doll form in The Witch in the Web as one of the dolls Willabella Muckwab, posing as Lex Foster, pulls out of her bag and begins worshipping.
Daddy[]
Pokey appears in doll form at the end of the song Young At Heart. He is also referenced in the spell from The Black Book Sheila intends to use to keep her young.
Yellow Jacket[]
Scientists discovered a blue substance after landing on a meteor which they then spliced with human DNA to grow a new creature in a lab. This creature was Otho, the human form of Pokotho. While in this form, Otho was unable to access his true power but he maintained the ability to mess with people's minds and later, as his power grew, he gained the ability to absorb people and make them a part of his Hive. Otho was later purchased by Charles Coven to fight in the Hatchetfield Roller-rama.
While fighting at the Roller-rama, Otho sends Hannah Foster a vision of him absorbing the Boy with the Bloody Nose. While trapped in the vision, Hannah injures herself by cutting off her finger using the band-saw.
Later, as Hannah fights Sophia in the ring at the roller-rama, she notices Otho watching from a private viewing box behind the stands. He calls out to her and when the girl questions who he is he says that he is death and rebirth and promises that she'll be with them soon.
A few weeks later, Otho is sat in a darkened room biding his time when Charles enters. He suggests that Otho should fight Spitfire but he refuses saying that she's irrelevant and that once he fights Hannah Foster, everything will be irrelevant. This unnerves Charles but Otho assures him he has nothing to worry about from him. Charles then reminds Otho that he's killed some of his employees and reminds him that in the base of the neck of his human form is a bomb which could kill him. Charles then tells him that he'll try to organise a fight with Hannah and that in the meantime Otho will fight Spitfire.
A few days later, Otho fights Spitfire and no matter what she does, Sophia is unable to stop both Otho and the Boy with the Bloody Nose, who is now a part of Otho's Hive. Soon, Otho has defeated Sophia and is about to take her as a member of his Hive when Hannah calls out to him telling him to stop. She tries to push Otho from Sophia's mind but she isn't strong enough and Otho takes Sophia as a member of his hive.
Later that day, Hannah is set to fight Otho in the ring. Hannah tries to send a blast of psychic energy to hit Otho Prime in the ring but before it hits him, he puts Spitfire in the way forcing Hannah to remove the blast before it hits her friend. As she's distracted, Hannah is knocked into by the Boy with the Bloody Nose and she hits her head, making her dizzy and her ears ring. Hannah is then surrounded by the three forms of Otho who begins to make Hannah a part of his hive and she calls out to her sister.
Meanwhile, across town at Toy Zone, Lex finds herself having visions of a new blue doll which fills the shelves of the store: A Sing-Along Pokey. The dolls begin reaching out and grabbing Lex, they overwhelm her and she begins to drown in the pool of blue goo. She begins to sink down into the goo and then wakes up in the void with Webby.
Webby teaches Lex how to use her powers to teleport herself into the fighting ring at the Roller-rama. At the sight of Lex, Otho is angered and tells Hannah that he will not allow her sister or his to interfere. Sophia uses her powers to trap Lex in a ring of fire, allowing the Boy with the Bloody Nose to hurtle into her and hold her in place. Otho turns to Hannah and tells her that with her power, Otho will be able to take over Hatchetfield, the world and all of the worlds. He then begins to take Hannah for his own.
As Otho takes Hannah, Lex can feel her sister slipping away and uses her powers to reach through The Black and White to grab the detonator in Charles' pocket. She then hits it which causes Otho's head to blow up, killing his human form.
Nerdy Prudes Must Die[]
Pokey and the other Lords in Black appear after being summoned by Steph Lauter, Pete Spankoffski and Grace Chasity via the ritual Holding Court with the Void. He and his brothers taunt the trio and then offer them an ultimatum: sacrifice the thing they cherish most, or die at the hands of Max Jägerman. After Grace sacrifices her chastity, the Lords in Black pull Max's soul into the Black and White.
Description[]
Pokey's doll form is a royal blue doll with a light blue belly. The doll has a mask-like face that looks like it's made of stone, and is cracked and leaking blue goo.
As Otho, he is a humanoid creature with gray skin and silver hair. He wears a stone-like mask covered with cracks.
When he is summoned by Steph, Pete, and Grace, he appears in a human-like form that is easier for the human mind to comprehend. He has blue goo running down his face and cracks on his forehead. His beret, leather jacket, pants, and shoes are all royal blue. His shirt is light blue. In his hand, he carries a mask similar to his true form's face.
Personality and Traits[]
Pokey is the most uncompromising of the Lords in Black. He appears cold and unforgiving and cares for no one but himself. Despite this, he is willing to make alliances with people in order to get what he wants, though ultimately he has no loyalty to these people and will turn on them when it benefits him. Pokey despises every voice that isn't his own and wants everyone to be dead but him. Despite his dislike of people, Pokey enjoys learning the wants and motivations of others, often actively seeking them out though this is usually as a way to actively manipulate them to do his bidding, Like the others his power can be used for good if he want to.
Skills[]
- Possession- Pokey has the ability to possess and take over the mind of his victims and turn them into a member of his hive. When he takes over these people they become a part of him, as they are no longer individual entities but rather extensions of his will.
- Hive Mind- Those infected by Pokey become a member of his collective Hive Mind. He completely controls his victims and no trace of the old person remains.
- Superhuman healing- Those infected by Pokey have the ability to remain alive with injuries that would be fatal if they weren't infected.
- Flying- As Otho, Pokey has the ability to fly.
- Physical Manifestation- When the ritual Holding Court with the Void is performed at a Black Altar, Pokey is able to appear in the normal world for a short period.
- Dimensional Imprisonment- Alongside the other Lords in Black, Pokey has the ability to pull into and entrap souls in the Black and White.
Relationships[]
Hannah Foster[]

Grace Chasity[]
Grace Chasity is a conduit for the power of Pokey. Grace initially uses the Black Book to contact the Lords in Black and makes a deal with them to give up the thing she cherishes most in exchange for them trapping Max Jägerman's soul in the Black and White. After this, Grace continues to use Pokey's power to entrap the souls of all people who she views as being "dirty dudes".
Steph Lauter[]
Steph Lauter is a victim yet ally of Pokey. Pokey actively enjoys taunting and flaunting his power as a god over her. Pokey manipulates Steph through using her own desires against her. In exchange, the Lords in Black asked for Steph to give up the thing she cherishes most: Pete Spankoffski.
Pete Spankoffski[]
Pete Spankoffski is a victim yet ally of Pokey. Much like Steph, Pokey enjoys Pete's suffering and actively enjoys flaunting his power as a god over him. Wiggly is Pokey's brother and one of the Lords in Black. Wiggly is the leader of the Lords in Black and so has the ultimate power within their group and the others are willing to yield to him.
