Quirinus Quirrell is a character from the A Very Potter Musical trilogy. He is played by Brian Rosenthal.
A Very Potter Musical[]
After being introduced as the new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher, Quirrell walks on stage in a comically large turban. He is in the middle of a very nervous speech about the newly returning House Cup tournament when Draco Malfoy calls him a terrorist, to which Draco is ignored. Quirrell is once again interrupted when someone sneezes under his turban, which he tries to dismiss as a fart. When it happens again and Harry's scar starts hurting, Quirrell quickly leaves.
The next time we see Quirrell, he has presumeably fled to his room and takes off his turban, revealing Lord Voldemort, who is attached to the back of Quirrell's head. It is revealed that, prior to the events of the show, Quirrell found Voldemort in the Forbidden Forest and let him attach himself to Quirrell's soul. Over the course of the scene, Voldemort demands many things of him, to which he always replies with one of Voldemort's titles until asked to stop, leading them to a first-name basis. They bicker about Quirrell leaving laundry out which leads to the duet Different As Can Be, where they sing about being polar opposites.
Later, the two go out and get drunk at the Hog's Head. When they get back home, Voldemort remarks about how since they were both drinking into the same belly they got twice as drunk. They talk about various things until Quirrell says that Voldemort being attached to his soul is kind of like having a friend, which deeply touches Voldemort. They then sing Different As Can Be (Reprise).
On the night of the Yule Ball, Quirrell brings a Portkey disguised as a punch ladle to Hogwarts as part of the plan to get Voldemort a body again, which they have had for a long time. Both of them seem sad at the idea of physically seperating but agree to still see each other after. At Voldemort's suggestion, they eventually plan a roller-blading date and hug. Severus Snape enters just in time for Quirrell to pull the turban over Voldemort's face and questions why he is in the Great Dance Hall moments before the dance, to which Quirrell replies that he's just doing some last minute decorations. Quirrell then puts the punch ladle-Portkey which contains Harry Potter's favorite drink into a small bowl. He leaves when he notices that Snape still seems suspicious of him.
During the Yule Ball, Harry and Cedric Diggory fight over who gets to give Cho Chang a drink from the punch ladle, and as they both grab the Portkey, they are both teleported to the graveyard where the Riddle family is buried. Quirrell watches them from a distance until Voldemort uses Avada Kedavra on Cedric, killing him instantly. He then petrifies Harry before taking off his turban, revealing Voldemort to the boy. Death Eaters appear from the shadows and prepare the body seperation ritual as Quirrell and Voldemort crawl inside the cauldron. Quirrell is the first to jump out on his own, revealing that the ritual worked. He then sits on the ground and watches Voldemort perform the first part of To Dance Again before joining in himself, leading the two to dance together, soon followed by the Death Eaters.
When Bellatrix Lestrange enters, she reveals that she and Voldemort are going to backstab Quirrell and frame him for Harry's soon-to-be death, getting him sent to Azkaban. Quirrell, betrayed and hurt, lashes out at Voldemort, to which Bellatrix uses Crucio and sends Quirrell writhing on the ground in pain, where he cries. Voldemort walks over to him and explains that it was initially part of the plan, but that he had a change of heart after getting to know Quirrell and that everything will be fine, but Quirrell is still angry. After a final jab about their previously planned roller-blading date being impossible to go on if Quirrell is in Azkaban, the Death Eaters lead him off-stage where he is taken to prison.
During his time in Azkaban, he has been given a prison robe and sings part of the duet Missing You alongside Harry. He laments about Voldemort and how he was happy with him before the events at the graveyard.
In the final scene of the play, we see that Quirrell has been given his normal clothes back by a Dementor, who discusses seeing a lot of his happy memories being about a certain friend of his. When asked about it, Quirrell firmly states that he's put that behind him, however when he is told that Voldemort has died, he falls to the ground and cries. Fortunately, moments later it is established that Voldemort did not in fact die, as he walks on stage himself. This is because of the piece of his soul that lives in Quirrell, and additionally his diary that is still intact. They reunite and sing the closing number, Not Alone (Reprise).
A Very Potter Senior Year[]
19 years after the events of the show, Quirrell appears alongside Voldemort as they drop their daughter off at Platform 9 and 3/4. At the station, Quirrell runs into Harry Potter, who, despite his scar tingling, does not remember who Quirrell is.
Once Harry leaves, Quirrell removes his turban to reveal Voldemort, who is either reattached to Quirrell or just under the cloak with him. The two discuss Potter and Voldemort's new found peace with his family, and how Harry Potter made him realise his faults and taught him how to love. Quirrell then replies with the fan-favorite line, "Okay is Wonderful."
Trivia[]
