The Guy Who Didn't Like Musicals[]

Sam is first mentioned in the opening scene when Charlotte is on the phone to him. It is implied that Sam tells her that he is going to be working late and that he won't be able to join her for the cuddle night their couples counselor recommended. However, it is later revealed that Sam is not working late at all, instead he is going on a date with Zoey to see Mamma Mia at the Starlight Theater. While Sam is at the theater, the meteor crashes into it this causes Sam to become infected and become one of the first members of the Hive in Hatchetfield. It can be assumed that he then goes on to infect the rest of the HFPD.

Sam later reappears after being called by his wife and breaks out into song with two other cops and attempts to murder his wife, until Ted knocks him out with a trash lid and bust his head open. After Sam is knocked out the group decide to take the unconscious man to Professor Hidgens in the hopes he can help the infected man. Once they arrive at his home, Hidgens orders the group to handcuff him to a chair. Hidgens is able to get some blue goo from Sam's open head wound and leaves to examine it in his lab. He takes the rest of the group bar Charlotte with him to go drink.

Left alone with Sam, Charlotte is made victim to him after he wakes up and begins to sing for her. Sam manages to charm his wife and later, after pretending to die from his head wound, Sam manages to get Charlotte to free his hands from the chair. He then kills Charlotte and infects her. The two, now infected, find the others drinking at Hidgens' bar and attempt to kill them however they are both shot and killed by professor Hidgens.

Time Bastard[]

Sam is mentioned by Charlotte after Ted attempts to hook up with her. She rejects him by telling him that her husband is just across the room.

Honey Queen[]

Sam is very supportive of Zoey in her goal to become the Honey Queen, and helps her in various ways. Zoey is blackmailed by Linda Monroe, who threatens to show Mima incriminating pictures of Zoey smoking weed and having an affair with a married man, which would cause Zoey to be written out of Mima's will, and thus lose her inheritance. Sam comes up with the idea to make Linda lose her leverage by killing Mima. He uses being a cop to get into Mima's room at night and mixes up her many medications, causing her to pass away in her sleep.

At Zoey's request he kidnaps River Monroe, and sits with him in an unmarked police car in the parking lot. According to Zoey, Sam will make River dissapear by throwing him off the Nantucket Bridge if Linda doesn't drop out of the Honey Queen pageant. Gerald Monroe finds out, and goes to rescue his son. Linda gets ahold of Zoey's phone and asks Sam to honk the car horn, and stand outside with his eyes closed. Sam eventually complies and Gerald tackles him. They punch eachother, and Sam pulls out his gun to shoots Gerald three times in his shoulder. Gerald scurries off and as Sam follows his blood trail through the parking lot, he taunts Gerald, telling him he is going to kill him, as well as his wife and children. When he rounds a corner and Gerald isn't there, he asks himself if he is just a shitty cop, because he can't figure out where Gerald went. Then Gerald's SUV charges towards Sam. He shoots at the windshield, which shatters, but it's no use, and the car crushes Sam, killing him.

Nerdy Prudes Must Die[]

Sam is initially mentioned by Officer Bailey when he tells Detective Shapiro that Sam vomited upon seeing Richie Lipschitz's body. Sam then appears over the police radio when he informs Shapiro and Bailey that they've found Max Jägerman's body at Waylon Hall. This cameo by Sam only appears in the live version of the show.

Personality and Traits[]

Sam Sweetly is an entirely self-serving and morally corrupt man. He has no loyalty to anyone but himself and he only cares for others when they have something to offer him. Vows mean nothing to him and he will often go back on his word. He also has very lax morals and will use his power as a white cop in America to get what he wants. Despite being a member of the police force, Sam cares little for the laws and will happily use his status as a cop in order to easily commit crimes such as murder in order to benefit himself and his girlfriend Zoey.

Skills[]

  • Manipulation- Sam is very good at manipulation in order to get what he wants.

Relationships[]

Charlotte Sweetly[]

Charlotte and Sam

Charlotte and Sam during You Tied up My Heart

Charlotte Sweetly is Sam's wife. He is cheating on her with a number of different women, most notably Zoey Chambers while she is cheating on him with Ted Spankoffski and her therapist. Sam is a douchebag towards Charlotte, often messing her around. Despite this, Charlotte wants to make her marriage work with Sam as she loves him.

In The Guy Who Didn't Like Musicals, the Hive uses Charlotte's affection for her husband to lure her into freeing her husband, subsequently resulting in her death.

Zoey Chambers[]

Sam and Zoey

Sam and Zoey in The Guy Who Didn't Like Musicals

Zoey Chambers is Sam's girlfriend. Sam appears to care a lot for Zoey and is willing to do anything for her, including commit crimes. However, it appears as if Zoey doesn't actually care about Sam and instead only likes the power that he gives her due to his status as a cop and was fully intending to leave him once she made her way out of Hatchetfield. Zoey cares very little that Sam is married and has no care about how this may effect Charlotte.

In The Guy Who Didn't Like Musicals, Zoey cares little for Sam and even remarks that he's an asshole but does comment that his uniform is sexy.

In Honey Queen, Sam is fully willing to murder and kidnap for Zoey while she gives him very little in return.
