Starkid Homecoming is a special 10 year reunion concert made as part of Team Starkid's 10niversary celebrations. The concert had 3 shows at the Theatre at the Ace Hotel in Los Angeles between the on July 25 and 26, 2019.
This special reunion concert features original cast members from the very first Starkid show (and performers from every Starkid show since), coming together for the first time in a decade to pay tribute to the musical that started it all. Get ready to go back to goblins, and ghosts, and magical beasts, cause to borrow a phrase from an old friend, it's gonna be totally awesome.
Development[]
StarKid Homecoming was developed as a special celebration for StarKid's 10th anniversary. It was first teased by a post on StarKid's instagram on September 1, 2018.[1] It was officially announced via the kickstarter reveal trailer on April 4, 2019. The concert was funded alongside Black Friday as part of StarKid's 10niversary Celebration! Kickstarter campaign. The campaign made $547,439 between 11,704 backers. The show featured over 40 members of Team Starkid from a range of shows in a celebration of the music of Starkid since Starkid's first production: A Very Potter Musical.
A recording of the show and two live albums were made available for purchase from the Team Starkid store on December 18, 2019.[2][3][4] The albums were then released for streaming on December 25, 2020[5][6] with a documentary of the show being uploaded to YouTube September 15, 2020.[7]
The show was rehearsed in only a few days due to the time constraints of the cast.
Mishaps included Joe Walker accidentally missing his entrance to Me and My Dick and tossing the microphone into the (thankfully covered that day) pit, him seriously injuring his ankle during To Dance Again and multiple unrelated microphone issues
