Wilbur Cross (also known as Uncle Wiley) is a character in the Hatchetfield Universe. He is a former member of P.E.I.P. and a loyal disciple of the Lords in Black. He features in Black Friday, Watcher World and The Witch In The Web and is played by Joey Richter.

History[]
In 2005, P.E.I.P. constructed a portal to the Black and White, which Wilbur stepped through. While in the Black and White, the man pledged his allegiance to the Lords in Black and became their loyal disciple. Some time after this, Wilbur and Miss Holloway had a battle that occurs in every timeline. Around half the time, Wilbur wins and takes Miss Holloway's denim jacket as a trophy (implying that he beat her in the Black Friday timeline), however the other half Miss Holloway kills him (as seen in The Witch in the Web).
Black Friday[]
Wilbur first appears dressed as Uncle Wiley in the Wiggly Jingle. Alongside the Sniggles, he sings and dances to advertise the brand new Wiggly doll. He then later appears as a delivery driver who brings the dolls to Toy Zone. He promises Frank that the dolls are going to make him a killing, and then he goes to leave. As he leaves, the man hits on Lex, much to her disgust. Once the riots break out at Lakeside Mall, Wilbur approaches Linda Monroe and offers to give her everything she's ever desired: the ability to be adored. He holds her as he asks if she can see Wiggly. Linda then becomes a disciple and prophet of Wiggly.
Wilbur once again appears when President Howard Goodman enters the Black and White. He taunts the president, telling him that the riots were his fault as he enabled the capitalistic system within America that allowed Wiggly to appeal to people. He then attempts to kill the President but is stopped by MacNamara. Howard is then able to escape while MacNamara remains in the Black and White.
Watcher World[]
Wilbur appears briefly in Watcher World as a voice where he announces the start of Blinky's Watch Party and introduces the sniggles much like he does at the beginning of Black Friday.
The Witch in the Web[]
After hearing the voice of Wiggly, Hannah finds herself all alone on the stage of Miss Holloway's Nightmare Time version of the Starlight Theater. On the floor is a skeleton pinned to a strange symbol with a black blade. Subconsciously, Hannah manages to bring the skeleton back to life, revealing it to be Wilbur. Hannah is scared by the man and asks how she knows him, but he tells her not to worry. He then attempts to kill Hannah, but as he moves the blade down, he finds Hannah has disappeared and is now holding the hand of Miss Holloway. Wilbur reveals that Hannah has the most powerful psychic mind in the history of reality, and then begins to possess Pamela in the waking world. As Hannah tries to escape back into her own mind, Wilbur orders the 3-Girl Creature,which has been waiting to strike, to go and get her while he and Miss Holloway fight. Wilbur cheats in fighting and uses Pamela in the waking world to choke Miss Holloway. Hannah is almost attacked by the 3-Girl Creature and send out a mental shockwave that sends the creature flying away from her, and Wilbur is thrown from Miss Holloway, presumably returning him to his dead state.
Personality and Traits[]
Wilbur is the embodiment of a malevolent force within the Hatchetfield Universe. As a servant of the Lords in Black, Wilbur is entirely morally corrupt and is willing to do whatever it takes to enact their schemes. He appears as a slimy and evil man only obsessed with enacting the will of his masters and is somewhat mad in his loyalty to them as he is willing to leave everything from his old life behind to serve them. Wilbur is highly intelligent and is the mastermind behind many of the Lords in Black's schemes. He can also appear somewhat sleazy in his attitudes towards women such as Lex and Linda. Ultimately, Wilbur is a crazed and malevolent man only loyal to his masters and is willing to do anything to destroy those who stand in his way. Wilbur is a collective of humanized evils and yet in all his villainy he only seeks to expose and exploit the evil humans make themselves, he is the window into the much scarier real world that just might open up the idea that Hatchetfield is not far off from our own.

- Magic- As a disciple of the Lords in Black, Wilbur has a number of abilities linked to magic:
- Mind Control- Wilbur has the ability to control other people's bodies against their will.
- Accessing Nightmare Time- Wilbur is able to access other people's Nightmare Time.
- Dimensional Travel- Wilbur can move freely between The Black and White and Hatchetfield.
- Teleportation- Wilbur has the ability to reach into the Black and White to teleport objects from both within and outside the realm.
- Resistance to Deconstruction- Although not wearing a specialized suit, Wilbur can still survive inside of The Black and White.

Miss Holloway[]
Miss Holloway and Wilbur in The Witch in the Web
Miss Holloway is Wilbur's enemy. The two have a lot of history together and an even match in abilities as they have killed each other in half of the timelines. Wilbur enjoys taunting Miss Holloway, while she remains more serious when they fight. When he defeats her, Wilbur steals Miss Holloway's jacket as a trophy. The two are diametrically opposed foes and are equally matched in power and ultimately act as narrative foils for one another.
Wiggly[]
Wiggly is Wilbur's master. After entering the Black and White, Wilbur pledged his allegiance to the Lords in Black. Wilbur is the main enactor of many of the Lords in Black's schemes, most prominently Wiggly's. Posing as 'Uncle Wiley', Wilbur was the creator of the Wiggly doll and aimed to aid Wiggly in his plans for world domination.
Linda Monroe[]
Linda Monroe and Wilbur in Black Friday
Linda Monroe is Wilbur's lover and co-conspirator. Wilbur approaches Linda in order to recruit her as the prophet of Wiggly and the leader of his cult. There is a lot of sexual tension between the two and they likely slept together.[1]
General John MacNamara[]
General John MacNamara is Wilbur's former mentee and enemy. The two previously worked together in P.E.I.P. in creating a portal to the Black and White. After Wilbur steps through the portal and pledges him allegiance to the Lords in Black, MacNamara actively works to stop Wilbur and his plans with Wiggly to build a portal to the black and white that he's able to come through.
